In a recent post I think I was saying how I was doing a mustache gift basket as a birthday gift. Well here is one of the many creations going into it so far. It's a jar that say "My Stauche" I thought it would be cute and I always remembered how she hid things cause her brothers likes to take without asking. I thought hey this would great and I can stick all kinds off goodies in here. :)
All you need is:
- Old jar
- 2 squares of scrap fabric
- Fabric paint
- Acrylic paint
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brushes
First make sure your jar is super clean. Here's a little tip, if your having trouble getting the label goo off just use baby oil and it will come right off. I also use baby oil on my Mod Podge brushes and Paint brushes. It makes them super clean and easy to use later.
Now start drawing the mustache. I drew this and then waited before I did the words. While you are waiting paint the lid. Once the lid has dried place Mod Podge over it to make it super shiny or you can just leave it be.
When everything has dried it's time to add the fabric to the bottom of the lid. You can slits in it first or just leave it be. Once you've finished glue to the lid.
Now you are ready to stack though's goodies up!! :{
So while I was doing the craft above I had this bright idea I wanted to do something with clay. It didn't quite come out as I had planned. In fact it was nothing that I had planned, but that is ok. Especially since this is way better!
I was trying to make this button that said "I :{ (that little guy is my best way of showing a mustache) Act." My sister in law just informed me that is what she wants to do and I want to be supportive in every way I can.
What I ended up making was an egg that was sunny side up! :) Totallly different!!!
I love it thought because I always see thought really creative food beads and want one. Well I finally have one and I did it all by myself!
You will need:
- Clay
- Acrylic Paint
- Fabric Paint
- Paint Brushes
All you need to do is make a flat circle and place into the the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. You want to do it until you see a little bubble. Be careful not to burn that clay.
Next paint with acrylic first and then fabric. The fabric paint will give it that glossy look. Mine had glitter in it. That's basically it. :)
