It started out as a project to make a huge basket of some sort to hold all the goodies I was gathering for my sister in laws birthday, but quickly changed to something else. Now this basket is holding some delicious fruit and it is soooo easy to make!
- 20 sheets of magazine paper
- mod podge
- paint brush
- balloon
- Newspaper or something to cover your table
Start out by prepping your area so that it won't be a big mess later. Next blow up your balloon and place to the side ( preferable with no sharp objects). Now cut your magazines sheets into strips and start adding them with Mod Podge to the balloon. I did about two layer, but you can do more if you prefer.
Once you are done let the balloon dry over night. Tommorow once it has dried take a push pin and pop the balloon. This way it will deflate withing the magazine egg. Now you can start pushing on one side so that it starts to form the basket shape.
You can either leave it this way, add another layer or maybe get creative and add a handle or something. :)
